Emphasis may include learn-to-bowl and league bowling for youth bowlers and/or senior citizens.Duties and Responsibilities:Solicits, organizes and coordinates bowling leagues and conducts tournaments and special events. Conducts Learn-To-Bowl classes and trains instructors on how to develop bowlers.Posts league schedules and standing, where applicable. Maintains dues records, collects league money and administers Awards Programs and year-end activities. Trains league officers, using appropriate manuals and rule books. Types and copies bowl-o-grams, letters and league agreements.Phones previous year league bowlers to determine whether returning to the same and/or another league. Makes meeting reminder calls; contacts new sign-ups to place on leagues. Makes follow-up calls after first week of league to those who didn�t show to promote participation; cold calls selected area offering free �Learn to Bowl� classes for adults and children.Asks league and open play bowlers to sign up for leagues, tournaments and special events by visiting lane-to-lane. Maintains Bowler Solicitation records (Bowler Tracking forms, Lane-To-Lane records, etc.)Communicates with all employees about developing leagues and current status. Calls customers to confirm their interest in signing up for leagues.Logs sign-ups in book and inputs into computer. Maintains accuracy of league sign-up book and database with changes as they occur. Answers questions and provides information about replacement bowlers using sign-up files.Creates new programs to maintain interest and prepares monthly program schedule. Communicates promotional programs to bowlers. Prepares and distributes monthly newsletter, calendar and flyers. Coordinates special events. Orders shirts, supplies, and door prizes.Promotes community programs including school youth, physical education and handicapped programs and establishes good working relationships with local Associations. Attends meetings. Maintains schedule and distribution of In-School Bowling Program to schools. Promotes senior bowling at local Senior Centers and Service Clubs and contacts senior retirement communities.Organizes and promotes �Lock-ins�, school programs, after-prom parties, birthday parties, etc. Prepares, distributes and maintains consent forms and contracts, if applicable. Solicits coaches and parents as chaperones, if applicable.Makes P/A announcements. Visits with officers and bowlers on the lanes. Determines any league or Center problems that need to be addressed, public relations. Occasionally attends league meetings and provides information to leagues regarding prices, awards program, specials, etc. Mediates team or individual issues and advises Management of any problems.Operates computer. Maintains current phone and address information of league bowlers and updates league rosters. Establishes a permanent file consisting of names, addresses and telephone numbers of bowling prospects in the market area. Maintains record of calls, contacts, acceptances, etc.May obtain business listings for outside sales and develop and maintain a prospect list year round, prepare promotional sales packets and make sales calls and presentations. Sends a �Thank You� letter or card for every sales call.Schedules & coordinates promotion parties, tournaments, or special events. Reserves lanes in center book and/or calendar and notifies center staff of all bookings. Maintains calendar of all parties, league meetings and league start-ups. Creates a Party File for each party. (Refer to Successful Bowling Party Conversion Manual).Prepares flyers/invitations for bowling parties or special events. Delivers invitations and posters to prospects. Makes follow-up calls to prospects to ensure invitations were distributed, and if additional help or materials are needed.Prepares registration packages for parties and places guest confirmation calls. Sets up sign-in table and prepares welcome messages for overhead and Del-Mic. registers guests, makes welcome announcements, checks for refreshment readiness and places on time, socializes lane-to-lane during parties for league interest and scouts for league officers. Determines league interest using registration card information and conducts post meeting lane-to-lane solicitation to request sign-ups. Mails each guest appropriate post-party information letters.Provides friendly, courteous, polite, and helpful customer service, maintains safe work environment and provides a safe environment for customers.Develops Cosmic Clubs, Cosmic Leagues, and Merchant Leagues.Assists in scheduling telemarketing as business dictates and analyzes telemarketing results � making adjustments as required.
